The Marine Corps is looking to upgrade its electronic warfare capabilities with a product improvement program (PIP) for the Mobile Electronic Warfare Support System (MEWSS). The PIP is in response to commercial developments in communications technology and available technological developments in electronic warfare equipment.
The MEWSS is a suite of electronics installed on a converted logistics variant of the light armored vehicle. The system, part of the radio battalion inventory, is operated by a five-Marine crew.
