Pursuing an international presence for her business, a Kansas City entrepreneur has taken her business overseas for the first time, starting a home health care services company in Turkey.
Kathy Dodd, CEO and chairwoman of The Corridor Group, has formed a partnership with one of Turkeys 10 biggest companies to build the business. Dodd and Istanbul-based The Eczacibasi Group will share equal ownership of Eczacibasi Corridor Health Products and Services Co., Turkeys first home health care provider.
The deal establishes The Corridor Group's first operations abroad.
Dodd expects the new company, based in Istanbul, to begin operations in early November. Eczacibasi Corridor will provide home nursing care and medical equipment.
Dodd declined to reveal the amount of The Corridor Group's investment but said the venture could provide entry for her business into the young but lucrative home health care markets in Asia and the Middle East.
