Employment Appeal Tribunal
The claimant was a junior doctor who worked under a contract of employment with Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. In January 2014, he was working overnight in the intensive care unit at Queen Elizabeth hospital in Woolwich when two locum doctors failed to show.
He had to cover other wards, including A&E, and reported his concerns to managers and made various disclosures about patient safety to the trust, repeating them to Health Education England (HEE).
