A developer plans to build an eight- to 10-story apartment building that would replace a Pizza Hut restaurant in Dinkytown and add to a wave of student housing around the University of Minnesota.
The developer, Brett Naylor, signed a purchase agreement for the Pizza Hut site in the Dinkytown neighborhood of Minneapolis to accommodate the 100-unit building. Pizza Hut plans to lease space nearby for a take-out restaurant, Naylor said.
The apartment building's amenities would include underground parking and high-speed Internet access. It's also possible that the building would include retail on the first floor and a fitness gym, he said.
Units are expected to rent for $500 per bedroom, which is less than nearby student housing developments. Rents at The Melrose Apartments, a...
