Abstract

(Marketwired - Oct. 2, 2013) - DHL Global Forwarding, Freight, the air and ocean freight specialist within Deutsche Post DHL and one of the leading providers of road freight services in Europe, is the industry's first company to include an automatic carbon footprint reporting feature as part of its track and trace system. The customer system complies with norms and latest industry standards. From October 1 onward, customers are able to see the carbon footprint of their shipments within DHL's web based services 'DHLi Public Tracking' and 'Active Tracing'. The reporting service automatically appears in the system. The new feature is available for customers worldwide.

To receive individual carbon footprint statements of their shipments via 'Track & Trace' or via 'Active Tracing', customers just have to enter their shipment ID and click on the CO2 footprint button. The system will then provide the user with an individual carbon emissions notification. The data is compliant with the European Standard EN 16258, which was developed by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), as well as the new French Decree 2011-1336, which came into effect today.
