DirecTv Inc. (GMH) launched today a public service program, DirecTv Goes To School, that will provide up to 50,000 qualifying kindergarten-through-grade-12 schools with free access to more than 60 channels of news, educational and information programming.
Under the program, participating schools will get a free programming package of more than 60 channels from networks such as C- SPAN, CNN, the Discovery Channel, The History Channel, The Learning Channel and A&E, DirecTv said.
Specific programs available include Nickelodeon's Emmy Award- winning series, "Bill Nye the Science Guy;" The Weather Channel's popular earth science series, "The Weather Classroom;" A&E's eight- part series on the solar system's history, "The Planets;" and...
