Palo Alto, Calif. -- Hewlett-Packard Co. in March will incorporate features into its notebooks that will make them easier to manage and will smooth over common problems laptops have when running Windows NT.
Support for the Desktop Management Initiative (DMI) standard will be written into the HP OmniBooks' BIOS, giving the notebooks asset-management features such as password security and inventory, said sources familiar with HP's plans.
