TELECOMWORLDWIRE-17 February 2000-Dolphin Telecom wins TETRA network licence in Spain (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http:// www.m2.com Mobile radio operator Dolphin Telecom Plc says it has been awarded one of two national licences to operate a TETRA (Terrestrial Trunk Radio)-based mobile communications network in Spain. With the award, the company has now secured digital spectrum in seven European countries, including the UK, France, Belgium and Germany, where it is deploying TETRA networks. In Portugal and Luxembourg network roll-outs are still in the early planning stages, while Dolphin expects to begin initial planning for network deployment in Spain in the near future.
