Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein is looking at a switch from licensing software to a service bureau arrangement with Automatic Data Processing for fixed-income trades. Vito DiMattia, managing director and head of operations in New York, said the firm had originally licensed the ICI system years ago for fixed-income processing, but ADP has begun to offer the product on a service bureau basis. DiMattia said that setting up a service contract would make working with ADP simpler because upgrading, which Dresdner does in-house, is a laborious process that ADP would assume. There would not be any substantial monetary savings.
