Duke Energy has plans to build another solar facility in Florida, this time in the Reedy Creek Improvement District in Orlando. The new 5 megawatt (MW) facility is separate from 500 MW of solar announced in April.

The utility has receive approval to build, own, and operate the new facility from the Reedy Creek Improvement District Board of Supervisors. The approval gives Duke Energy Florida Duke Energy Florida Solar Solutions LLC, a subsidiary of Duke Energy Florida, a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the improvement district.
