Trade topped at 9,000gns during Borderway Mart's 31st Black and White Sale of elite dairy animals in Carlisle last weekend (2 December).
Altogether 24 animals sold for £5,000 or more and trade averaged £4,000.
Sale leader was a red-and-white heifer consigned by Eastford Holsteins, Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbrightshire. Eastford Absolute Hotspot Red is a daughter of the World Dairy Expo reserve grand champion Starmark AD Hotstuff Red Ex94. She was purchased by Andrew Kennedy of Northern Ireland on behalf of a client for 9,000gns.
Selling for the day's second-best price of 8,200gns was Absolute Windbrook Adeen, from Absolute Genetics, Kirkham, Lancashire.
