GREENSBORO, N.C. - So far, diesel prices have not caused Inners Shows of Franklinton, N.C., to raise prices, but something might have to change in the future.
"It's getting to the point in the next few years, we may have to work better contracts with our [fair] committees so we get a better percentage," said Donna Inners, who owns the show with her husband, Edward Inners Jr.
"It's costing us more to do business. And there's a 12%15% increase in insurance that they're predicting. We'll know more about it in Gibtown," where the International Independent Showmen's Foundation meets in Gibsonton, Fla., Feb.4-9.
During Jan. 8-11, the Inners attended the joint meeting of the North Carolina Assn. of Agricultural Fairs and the South Carolina Assn. of Fairs, at the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel/Joseph S. Koury Convention Center, Greensboro, N.C.
There, the Inners took the time to meet with committee members and employees from their fairs, including Roger Nelson and Billy Potter from the Caswell County & Agricultural Fair, Yanceyville, N.C.
