RETAIL The nation's two biggest home electronics specialists are stepping up their game. Best Buy is testing used-game sales, and Circuit City has made a deal with online rental service GameZnFlix.
Circuit City will begin offering subscriptions Nov. 1 to GameZnFlix, a rental-by-mail competitor to Netflix and Gamefly that offers game and movie disc rentals. The service offers subscription plans starting at $8.99 a month. The chain also has launched a "24/24 Pickup Guarantee" for purchases of $25 or more made through its Web site, catalog or telephone call centers. Those purchases will be ready for customers to pick up at their designated store within 24 minutes of purchase confirmation, or the customer will receive a $24 Circuit City gift card.
