PONTIAC, Mich. - Despite the Detroit Lions' plans to leave the Silverdome within the next five years, Elias Bros. invested $250,000-plus to renovate and expand hours of operation for The Main Event restaurant and ballroom.
The Warren, Mich., concessionaire's contract with the Pontiac Stadium Authority runs concurrent with the Lions' lease, through the 2005 season. Elias Bros. also has the food service contract at Michigan International Speedway
The dome's 200-seat restaurant re-opened Sept. 1, remodeled and transformed from a sports bar theme to an upscale mode with deeper, mahogany wood tones and Lions action murals on the walls. Gone...
