ELKINS - Greenfield Cabinetry LLC will start up in a 50,000-square-foot building by mid-June in the Randolph County Commerce Park.
The company is a manufacturer of pre-made, finished bathroom and kitchen cabinets. It uses three hardwoods and a softwood to make cabinets, said Jack Hubbard, vice president.
Retail prices of the company's kitchen cabinets range from $15,000 to $25,000 per kitchen while bathroom cabinet sets retail for $5,000, on average, Hubbard said.
The shell building the company chose was completed last year by the Randolph County Development Authority (RCDA). The building comes complete with utilities and is within a short walk of the Wood Technology Center, which provides, custom-designed training for workers already employed in the lumber industry, along with more basic courses for those wanting to enter the industry, Hubbard said.
The 13,000-square-foot Wood Technology Center, also in the commerce park, was awarded the "Rural Community National Action Award" from the chief of the U.S. Forest Service division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 1993.
With a total equipment purchase of $1 million and a lease of the $1.4 million shell building and land from the RCDA, Greenfield Cabinetry has made a large investment in Randolph County. The company is owned by Indianapolis businessman Patrick Corsi.
Corsi also owns a larger, 26-year-old hardwoods company in the Indianapolis area, Corsi Cabinets.
