ROME - -- Empire Aero Center, a subsidiary of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI), expects its employment levels to rise from its current 200 to 450 by 2006 and it has a business plan in place to turn a profit by its first anniversary.
Corporate officials from Empire Acro and IAI wooed a crowd of politicians, economic leaders, and media at a gala Aug. 6 at the company's facility at the Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rorne. There, the company released a barrage of employment statistics:
* The company originally expected to have 100 employees on its payroll, instead it has 200.
* The company will hire another 100 employees between now and the end of the year, bringing its payroll to 300.
* An additional 150 employees will be hired in 2005, bringing total employment to 450, instantly catapulting the company into one of the Mohawk Valley's largest employees.
