Portland merchant- banking firm Endeavour Capital obtained authority to manage $25 million in state retirement money boosting prospects for its third investment fund.
The $25 million commitment is small for the $30 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement System. But it goes a long way toward helping Endeavour principals John "Rocky" Dixon and John von Schlegell meet the greater goals they've set for themselves as money managers. Since 1991, the two have made a name for Endeavour by investing money on behalf of Dixon's wealthy family. Endeavor's board of advisers includes former Sen. Mark Hatfield and Kraft-paper industry executive Dick Keller.
