SoftSol India is in the process of completing a $7 million to $8 million initial public offering on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange, both in India. Reason for starting the business: To be independent. When I was at PacBell, I would look at my boss' position, and realize that if I got promoted, I would still not be happy, and even one more level up to his boss' level, it still was not what I was looking for. To me, just being independent was something nice to have.
