Steven Sefton, president and CEO of Regents Bank, has spent his entire career in banking - much of it in top leadership positions.
Sefton, a native of Pasadena, Texas, began moving up the ranks soon after earning a bachelor's degree in banking and finance in 1984 from the University of Texas at Austin. He went from college to an entry-level training position with City National Bank and ended up president and CEO eight years later. After City National, he spent 14 years with First Business Bank and four years with Citizens Business Bank. Recruited to Regents Bank in 2011 as president, he became CEO as well in 2012.
Regents Bank was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in La Jolla with offices in downtown San Diego, Carlsbad and El Cajon, as well as Vancouver, Washington. As of the end of 2013, financial data is no longer available for Regents Bank, since it became a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based Grandpoint Bank.
