Sue and Bill Gross Women's Pavilion: A Testament to Your Health
In 1952, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian opened its doors to the residents of coastal Orange County. Upon its founding, Hoag was a 75-bed, single-story facility. Inconsequential by today's standards, 52 years ago it represented a momentous leap in the evolution of regional medical care.
Today, Hoag-a 409-bed, not-for-profit, acute care hospital-has launched the next generation of healthcare in Orange County with you at the forefront of its vision. Years of planning and development will culminate in late 2005 with the opening of the Sue and Bill Gross Women's Pavilion.
The new facility is named after Bill Gross, Founder and CIO of Newport Beach-based PIMCO, and his wife Sue, in recognition of their $20 million gift to the hospital in support of the Women's Pavilion.

This is the first major step in the hospital's 10-year expansion-carefully planned to meet the needs of this community's growing and aging population.
The Women's Pavilion will serve as the new main entrance for the hospital and will house more than 15 new and existing services, including Women's Health Services, Ambulatory Procedure Services, Laboratory Services, Patient Registration, Patient Education and a Hospitality Center.
The building meets new state guidelines that ensure Hoag will not only remain intact after a seismic event, but also will be functional for the provision of acute care medical services after an earthquake.
Additionally, the Women's Pavilion has been strategically designed to address important variables such as ever-evolving technologies and healthcare delivery modalities, population growth and healthcare needs specific to Orange County residents today and in the years to come.
And while the structure of the Women's Pavilion has been raised-prompting a dramatic and exciting change in our local landscape-work remains. Over the next few months, the development of the Women's Pavilion will continue with construction teams concentrating on completing the interior of the facility.
When the Sue and Bill Gross Women's Pavilion opens its doors later this year, it will stand ready to serve the needs of the entire...
