Last week's decision by Exxon Mobil and state Qatar Petroleum (QP) to halt work on the proposed Palm natural gas-to-liquids (GTL) project in the Mideast Gulf state doesn't mean that Exxon is dropping research and development work on the technology. On the contrary, the company has ideas on a whole new approach to GTL.
