Fairfield University recently received a $2.3 million grant from the State of Connecticut, the largest grant issued to date under a new program stemming from the Energy Independence Act signed into law last year. The grant will cover nearly 25 percent of the cost of constructing a combined heat and power plant (CHP) that will power the majority of buildings on campus.
