STRIP DISTRICT - Fanning/Howey Associates Inc. has quietly closed its Pittsburgh office, which ranked as the region's 15th-largest architectural firm in the Business Times 2001 Book of Lists.
Calls to the local office, which last fall employed 31, including nine registered architects, are being routed to Fanning/Howey's Celina, Ohio, headquarters.
"It was a business decision to consolidate that operation into two of our other regional offices - Columbus, Ohio, and Washington, D.C.," said Sharon Poor, who heads Fanning/Howey's media relations. Technically, the Washington office is in McLean, Va.
