7M bit/sec over standard phone wires now possible via Paradyne product.
The future of broadband data and video transport over standard voice phone wires could boil down to a race that is as political as it is technical.
Last week, AT&T Paradyne surged ahead in the technical race with the introduction of Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) technology that delivers 7M bit/sec downstream over a standard twisted-pairvoice phone line.
That puts it 1M bit/sec ahead of a flavor of ADSL that is supported by a different underlying technology.
