TELECOMWORLDWIRE-3 August 2000-Farebase introduces information and booking system for travel agents (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com Farebase, a UK provider of airfares data, has launched what it claims to be the market's first fully bookable online database that displays both consolidated and published fares on a single screen and allows agents to make bookings. The system - called Farebase Express - uses live Galileo information for published fares while simultaneously querying over 2m consolidated fares from Unijet. This is done using an online booking engine from Farebase's parent company TelMe.com Plc. Online bookings are auto queued directly to the chosen consolidator or IATA ticketing agent. Farebase Express can be installed on any PC and it uses dial-up, ISDN or leased line IP connections. ((Comments on this story may be sent to [email protected]))
