A Divine intervention could put Fatwire Corp. in fat city.
The $6.5 million acquisition in May of bankrupt Divine Inc.'s Web content business has given Fatwire a stable of blue-chip clients and a potential shortcut to profitability, officials said.
Closely held Fatwire, which earlier this month announced a deal with Men's Wearhouse to work with Sun Microsystems Inc. to create a data-sharing system across the clothing outlet's 500 stores, makes software that helps companies manage information on intranets, portals and corporate Web sites.
Venture capitalist Paul Lowell of Topspin Partners, one of Fatwire's backers, said the company is on track to turn its first profit in 2004.
