_: The Federal Board of Revenue is considering a request of the Ministry of Industries & Production to expedite processing of sales tax refunds of fan exporters for resolving the liquidity issue of the business community. Sources told research analyst-PAGE on Thursday that the FBR has taken action on the report of the Ministry of Industries & Production regarding delay in payment of sales tax refunds to fan exporters. Ministry of Industries has informed Tariq Bajwa Chairman FBR that a delegation of Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association (PEFMA) met with the officials of the Ministry. In the meeting, the delegation presented proposals to boost up Fan Industry in Pakistan. They also pointed out a number of problems/difficulties being faced by exporters of Fans including difficulties in processing refunds under SRO 1211(l)/2006 and under section 10 of Sales Tax Act which is causing cash flow and working capital problems. The situation aggravated further when system of refund was centralized under FBR and huge amounts are held up on accounts of refunds. The association has also provided details of refunds pertaining to one company M/s (ie Royal Fans) with the request to expedite release of company's funds. Details of pending claims of other companies are being processed and will be forwarded to the FBR for early release of funds.
