'Today in History' features are always popular with readers. The Web can help you find those stories.
Those "Today in History" features that move on the wires usually rate well in readership surveys. People seem to be interested in knowing that today, for instance, is the 125th anniversary of the sale of the first real typewriter and that "Lassie" was televised for the first time on this date in 1954. Enterprising feature editors can get more mileage out of these historical facts by using the Internet. For instance:
