Cleveland's largest architecture firm plans to open a Washington, D.C., office and has shortened its name to Westlake Reed Leskosky.
The name change from van Dijk Westlake Reed Leskosky reflects the move of famed architect and former lead partner Peter van Dijk, 75, to design associate.
"This shows a passing of the baton," Mr. van Dijk said. "I don't care what I'm called as long as it's not partner emeritus."
Managing partner Paul Westlake said the name change reflects a "culture of transition" that allows the firm to trace its roots to 1905, when Abram Garfield, son of the U.S. president from Mentor, formed it. He said Mr. van Dijk "continues to be a mentor and a designer for the firm, undertaking...
