First Federal opens commercial loan production office in Maumee

First Federal Bank of the Midwest, a subsidiary of First Defiance Financial Corp., recently opened its first office serving the Toledo market in Maumee, Ohio. First Federal president and chief operating officer James L. Rohrs said the office, located in Arrowhead Park, will specialize in commercial lending and commercial real estate.

"Community banking is the core business of First Defiance," Rohrs stated.

"Following the recent sale of our mortgage banking subsidiary, First Defiance is committed to expanding First Federal Bank of the Midwest into new markets. The opportunity to open a commercial loan production office in Toledo represents one of our steps in achieving this strategy."
