It has been a busy and satisfying spring for owners and employees of the First National Bank in Pratt. In May First National celebrated 100 years in business. A month earlier the bank was honored for its impressive and ongoing commitment to children when it received The Friends of Education Award by the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force.
A Beautiful Celebration
On May 2, 2002, the First National Bank in Pratt honored their centennial anniversary and invited the community to celebrate with them. At the bank that day there were exhibits, a wealth of gifts (watches, a DVD player, $50 savings bond), activities and door prizes (1902 Nash Auto Banks, free magazines for children, caps, specially minted centennial medallions), followed by an old fashioned sack supper at the Sixth Street Park in the early evening. Members of the Pratt County Historial Society presented $15 Pratt Chamber gift certificates to those with the best period costumes, and at 5 p.m. the First had a ground breaking ceremony for the FNB Train Station.
