The owners of Veach's East Side Fish Market, a Des Moines institution for more than 50 years, have filed for bankruptcy.
David and Mona Veach of Carlisle filed for liquidation of debt under Chapter 7 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code last month.
The Veaches closed their store last October.
David Veach, 46, and his brother William Veach, 65, operated the fish market. The business was founded by their father, Arthur Veach, who died in 1989 at the age of 87.
