When people think of Outpost Sports, 3602 N. Grape Road in Mishawaka, J.V. Peacock prefers they think destination rather than shopping plaza.
Rather than a typical retail outlet, plaza that can be found in numerous areas throughout Mishawaka and Granger, Peacock, who owns the storefronts in the plaza, says his might be more unusual because of the focus of the majority of the storefronts.
While he has rented one of the eight storefronts to a high-end audio and visual equipment store. Peacock's plaza's primary focus is fitness.
Along with Outpost Sports, Peacock's storefronts host his own Outpost CompuTraining Center, Metro Run & Walk, Triumph Fitness & Massage, Punch Kettlebell Gym and SweetSpot Racquet Shop.
Outpost Sports is a sporting outfitter with equipment, shoes, clothing and more, while the brand new computraining center helps cyclists maintain the gains they've made over the summer through the winter months. A computerized system allows the cyclists to hook their bikes into one of eight stations and train throughout the winter while keeping track of progress. With over 100 computerized programs, biking groups can race each other, do time trials and do novice to intermediate through expert rides. The new high-end computer training center opened in November and will run from now through April.
Outpost Sports also hosts a free weekly bike ride for enthusiasts...
