NEW YORK -- When it comes to footwear , Bloomingdale's Soho location, set to open April 24, is making a clean break from its uptown roots.
The 3,837-sq.-ft. women's department, for example, will be largely filled with designer bridge brands such as Sergio Rossi, Michel Perry and D & G rather than lower-tier labels, according to Debbie King, VP and DMM for women's shoes. In an exclusive interview with Footwear News, King said downtown customers can also expect exclusive items and colors, as well as personal appearances from designers ranging from Rafe to Holly Dunlap of Hollywould.
"We start out with an active presentation [showcasing everyone] from Puma to Nuala to Le Coq Sportif, with price points from $80 and on up," explained King. "From there, the rest of the presentation is upscale designer bridge resources, whereas in 59th Street we have Nine West and Enzo Angiolini [at] lower, better price points."
