Jack Won't Crack could be the next slogan used by Foodmaker International Franchising, Inc., which is still wrangling with Foodmex, Inc., its former master licensee in Mexico.
Foodmaker International, the wholly owned subsidiary of the San Diego-based Foodmaker, Inc., has been trying to terminate its 7-year agreement with Foodmex since late last year.
But the cheery Jack In The Box logos continue to adorn 10 eateries in Mexico, despite Foodmaker's efforts to get them down.
"There are now 10 restaurants that are basically defrauding consumers," said Tim Pickwell, corporate counsel for Foodmaker, Inc., and director of Foodmaker International.
"They are not Jack In The Box restaurants." For months now, there has been a flurry of suits and counter suits between the two parties on both sides of the border.
