DETROIT - Troubled auto parts maker Dura Automotive Systems Inc. has hired former Ford manufacturing chief David Szczupak as its COO.
Szczupak, 51, will be paid an annual salary of $500,000 plus a $200,000 signing bonus, according to a Dura disclosure filed Monday, Dec. 11, with the Securities and Exchange Commission. He also will be eligible for a bonus equal to 80 percent of his salary, Dura said.
In a statement, Dura said Szczupak will be responsible for all aspects of its manufacturing, engineering, quality and procurement worldwide.
Dura is reorganizing under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
