Roy Barnes, the former governor of Georgia, wants to buy a stake in a bank
Barnes and his brother Ray submitted a change-in-control notice to acquire 1 million shares each in Hiram, Ga.-based WestSide Bank, according to a regulatory filing dated Nov. 19 and recently obtained by SNL.
The total price for the acquisition would be $3 million at a purchase price of $1.50 per share. Their purchases are connected to an offering in which the bank intends to sell a minimum of 2 million common shares and a maximum of 3,333,333 shares. Each share in the offering comes with...
