The management of the former Herring/Newman marketing agency has repurchased the company. The agency, which changed its name to Think Seattle under its former owner, will relaunch next week as Sweetgrass.
Founded in 1983, Herring/Newman was one of the largest marketing and communications agencies in Seattle when it was acquired by New York-based Think New Ideas Inc. in April 1998.
Think New Ideas paid $3 million for the Seattle marketing agency and changed its name to Think Seattle. It had plans to use the firm as a springboard to bolster its international business. Six months later Think New Ideas itself became a wholly owned subsidiary of publicly traded Miami-based Answerthink Inc.
