Part of the fun of this job is that when I think I've seen everything on the DVD front when I think the studios have pushed the format to its limit - something comes along that promises to go beyond anything I expected.
I just hit that point when I saw the complete specs for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's Alien Quadrilogy, due out in a nine-disc boxed set Dec. 2. The four movies in the franchise -Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection - will also be available individually in two-disc Collector's Editions Jan. 6.
Just reading the specs alone floored me.
You may think I'm being premature here, given that I haven't sampled everything on the set. Fox has proven its mettle in the past, so I'm willing to go out on a limb here.
If what I saw Fox do with just one...
