User criteria for choosing a frame relay carrier runs the gamut from service prices to underlying switching platform.
In the case of REN Corp. USA, though, one of the supplier partnerships inundating the industry clinched the deal, according to Philip Marzullo, vice president and chief information officer at REN.
Marzullo addressed a group of International Communications Association (ICA) members on the subject at the recent ICA exposition and conference here.
Although REN was an MCI Communications Corp. customer for voice services when it was investigating carriers for its frame relay network a year ago, it chose WilTel's WilPak service over MCI's HyperStream service in a photo finish. REN launched its WilTel net last November.
