Fred Alger Management is considering purchasing an imaging and workflow system for its transfer agent, Alger Shareholder Services. The Jersey City, N.J.-based operation, which performs mutual fund servicing for Fred Alger's funds, is looking to consolidate paper flow and maximize staffers' time, according to Gary Palais, v.p. Alger Shareholder Services will begin reviewing systems in the next few months to see if buying an imaging system or a module would make sense for the firm. Imaging systems have become popular in the last five years as mutual fund assets have increased and firms look to become more automated, Palais said.
