Dave Vredenburgh has bittersweet news for Northeast Ohio's software community.
Mr. Vredenburgh announced last week that his 4-year-old engineering software company, RuleStream Corp., received $6.3 million in venture capital, including $4.5 million from a Boston-area VC firm.
But in taking the money, Mr. Vredenburgh, who is president and CEO of RuIeStream, made the difficult decision to move the company's headquarters from Mayfield Heights to Boston, where he can be closer to his investor and a pool of potential employees. Mr. Vredenburgh said he, his wife and two children moved to Boston last month.
"I'm not too pleased about it myself," said Mr. Vredenburgh, a 19-year resident of Northeast Ohio. A wanted to get funded by institutions in Cleveland. I tried. I called them all."
