Health Canada has released its Planned Nutritional Labelling Policy mandating full disclosure of the ingredient makeup of prepackaged food and beverage products sold in Canada.
The policy comes after a two-year-long review of nutrition labelling policies. Recommendations include a standardized chart listing information on calories, fats, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrate, fibre, sugar, protein, vitamins A and C, calcium and iron.
