WHO & WHAT: Matrix Artistic Director Nick Stenson teamed up with photographer Gilles-Marie Zimmermann to create this month's cover feature of various styles on four models. WHERE: Pier 59 Studios at Chelsea Piers, New York City. WHY: "I created looks that represent the botanicals in the Biolage products," Stenson says, adding that he wanted to showcase how Biolage products work on all types of hair. MATCHMAKER: This month, Matrix unveils a reinvention of its Biolage products with formulas that use BioMatch Technology, which mimics how systems in nature work together to solve challenges. Biolage ColorLast, HydraSource, VolumeBloom, SmoothProof and CleanReset fight problems like dull color, dryness, limp locks, frizz and buildup. IN STYLE: For cover model Yulia's flirty waves, Stenson relied on HydraSource Daily Leave-In Tonic and Biolage Whipped Volume Mousse. He set hair in a brick-lay pattern before pinning. MORNING DEW: For a fresh spring feeling, makeup artist Flora Kay created a dewy face and coral lips. BRING TO LIGHT: Essie Director of Education Gino Trunzo called on light nail polishes for four looks: white Blanc with iridescent Luxeffects Pure Pearlfection; sky blue Lapis of Luxury with metallic Luxeffects As Gold as it Gets; shimmery pink Sugar Daddy; and mint green Fashion Playground. PETAL TO THE METAL: Fashion Stylist Marie Blomquist chose floral patterns with shades of pink, lavender and green. MAKING MOVES: Stenson plans to work on a trend collection for JCP Salons, creating more than 80 looks for consumers and stylists, sc -Code Russell
