GE CAPITAL INFORMATION Technology Solutions will sink its teeth deeper into the channel with its acquisition of Access Graphics Inc.
Access Graphics, which built a strong reputation around the distribution of Sun Microsystems Inc. products and services, will lose President John Ramsey as a result of the deal. Ramsey plans to stay with Access Graphics' current parent company, Lockheed Martin Inc., as a consultant in the aeronautics giant's Commercial Systems Group.
News of the acquisition last week answered rumors Lockheed would unload the Boulder, Colo.-based Unix distributor. Speculation about a possible sale flared about a year ago.
