To meet the continuing high demand for concrete in growing areas along the Wasatch Front, Geneva Rock is opening new state-of-the-art batch plants in Tooele and Park City.
The new Tooele facility opened last week at 1730 W. Hwy 112. It includes a 1,260 square foot office building, a 1,264 square foot mixture building and a 1,200 square foot plant building.
"We're happy to bring more capacity to a growing area of the state," said Al Schellenberg, president of Geneva Rock Products, a subsidiary of Orem-based Clyde Companies. "The new facility will allow us to serve our customers even better."
During the construction of the Tooele facility, Geneva Rock incorporated some "green" building practices by recycling 3,000 tons of concrete and 1,500 tons of asphalt that was left on the site by the previous owners to create roads and paved areas for the new...
