Alameda, Calif.-based Geoworks hopes its recent acquisition of a U.K.-based firm will enable it to produce operating systems for a broader range of smart phones. Geoworks purchased Eden Group Ltd. for $30 million in stock. Eden Group provides underlying system software for RISC-based mobile communications devices.
