The number of people using the World Wide Web on a regular basis increased heftily between 1994 and 1995, from 1 million to 8 million, according to International Data Corp. Given that a projected 40 percent of U.S. households will own PCs by 1999-and most of them will be Internet enabled-estimates of the number of active Internet users by the year 2000 are zooming to 125 million.
