Columbus developer David Glimcher plans to redevelop the former ChemLawn and CheckFree corporate campus off Route 23 north of Worthington.
GRB High Street Partners, an affiliate of David J. Glimcher Co., purchased the 28-acre office complex from Worthington Industries Inc. in late May for $7.75 million.
Worthington Industries directly financed the purchase through a $7.68 million mortgage- an amount representing 99 percent of the sale price.
Glimcher, a developer of strip retail centers, declined to comment on the campus purchase or his redevelopment plans.
The Columbus Planning Commission has not received rezoning requests for the property, but sources told Business First the developer intends to turn at least part of the campus into a retail project. Such an endeavor would be in line with David Glimcher's development efforts.
Other Glimcher projects have included strip centers on the site of the former Marathon and Michael Dominic's properties at North High Street and East Wilson Bridge Road in Worthington, as well as a four-acre property at the Crosswoods development off High Street north of Worthington.
