Other entrepreneurs claim they want to change the world, and while Junaid Islam has traveled much of it, he just wants to change the networking market.
Mr. Islam is CEO of Network Robots in Pleasanton, which sells a single networking box with changeable software to address security routing and other tasks.
This method halts the need to purchase separate boxes for these jobs, and saves service providers money, he says.
"Programmability is old," says Mr. Islam. "Our breakthrough is programmability that is fast."
By replacing a hardware-defined networking device with a software-defined networking device, the customer can do new, interesting and profitable things with it, he says.
